Bowlovers

These ingenious bowl covers - "Bowl Overs" - are made from 100% cotton and are used to cover bowls when putting away leftovers in the fridge or larder.  They can be washed and re-used over and over again.

The Inspiration

I have always hated using cling film.  The thought of all that plastic going into landfill, the health worries of it coming into contact with the food and the fact that the rolls never seem to tear straight and for years I used to take the plastic shower caps from hotels and use those instead.  But they were difficult to clean and I really wanted something that you could just chuck in the washing machine with the tea-towels.  A light bulb came on and "Bowl Overs" were born.  They stayed at the "idea" stage for several years until a friend persuaded me to enter them into the Country Homes & Interiors new rural business competition. They were one of the runners up and I felt I now had the confidence to launch them into the world!

Now our Bowl Overs have a distributor in the USA - look at the website www.bowlovers.com and hopefully will be in the UAE by the end of the summer 2012
